For investors who wish to make a 5 year commitment, this product offers a potential return of 45% plus capital at maturity providing the index has not fallen the buffer of 50% at maturity. The equivalent annual compunded rate of return is 7.7% which is far greater than the current risk-free rate of return. However, please note any index growth above the fixed level will not be passed on to the investor. Any returns are liable to Capital Gains Tax, though the investment will be exempt if made within an ISA wrapper.
